The steel sleeper is one of the most durable and low-maintenance components in the superstructure and, due to the material properties, it is also the most versatile sleeper. The sleeper can be manufactured as a profile St82, Sbb1 and UIC28 or DS9 and is used as a main-track or turnout sleeper. Due to the low construction height, it is suitable for construction situations such as in tunnels or where there is a low ballast structure.
The advantages of the sleeper are its long service life of up to 60-80 years, its good CO2 balance through the use of GREENSTEEL and its 100% recyclability.
The bearing properties achieve good properties in terms of longitudinal and lateral displacement resistance.
The flexible manufacturing process allows for the realization of different lengths, gauges and rail profiles.
