Rules for employees of external companies
These rules and instructions are handed out to all companies that operate on the premises of DENA Stahlbau GmbH & Co. KG (hereinafter referred to as DENA). They are part of the contract award and must be observed by the contractor.
All employees and agents of the contractor have a special duty to support all occupational safety and environmental protection measures in order to avoid personal injury and property damage as well as fire and other hazards. This includes, in particular, compliance with the statutory occupational safety regulations, accident prevention regulations and the relevant company instructions (DENA operating instructions). Express reference is made to § 2 (1) and (2) of the BGV A1 “Principles of Prevention”. In order to avoid mutual endangerment, the instructions of the DENA plant manager must be followed and confirmed in writing upon request.
The contractor expressly recognizes the authority of the DENA operations manager to issue instructions to all employees in the context of executing the order. The DENA operations manager is to be informed immediately of any incidents in which personal injury or property damage has occurred.
The contractor is liable for any damage or delays in performance and underperformance resulting from failure to observe the regulations, traffic signs, prohibition, information, warning and instruction signs, as well as internal company instructions.
Furthermore, the following information must be observed, and the responsible supervisor of each external company employee must confirm in writing that they have taken note of it:
A. General
- People and, if applicable, property and vehicles, must be properly registered at the main office (visitor card).
- After completing the daily work, a proper logout must be made at the main office (visitor card).
- The company's rules on bringing vehicles, tools, equipment, materials and the like must be observed. (e.g. entry permit, see B2/B7)
- The bringing in of recording devices for image and sound, as well as the use of such devices, is only permitted with our prior written consent. Confidentiality regarding business, technical and other information must be maintained even after the work has been completed.
- The provisions of the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) and a speed limit of 10 km/h apply on the company premises. The marked traffic routes must be observed. Any obstruction of internal traffic must be avoided at all costs. It is not permitted to park or store objects of any kind on marked traffic routes.
- It is not permitted to park in front of fire lanes, hydrants, entrances, gates or bottlenecks, or in reserved parking spaces.
- Safety signs, safety and information signs in the company, warning signs, signs for rescue and first aid must be observed and must not be blocked.
- The workplace must always be kept clean and tidy and cleaned up after the work is completed; it must be in a safe condition.
- The storage of building materials and the installation of makeshift structures, construction vehicles or containers requires the prior written consent of the client.
- Entering operating areas in which no work is to be carried out under the contract is prohibited.
- The statutory break times are to be observed.
- It is strictly forbidden to appear or carry out work under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Damage to and malfunctions of company equipment must be reported to the operations manager of DENA immediately.
- In the event of an accident, the first-aid facilities of DENA can be used. For further measures, the rescue chain of the location is to be used.
B. Special safety instructions
- Equipment, machines and tools must be in proper condition and handled as intended.
- The equipment and tools used must comply with the applicable standards. In particular, electrical equipment must comply with the German Industrial Safety Regulation (Betriebssicherheitsverordnung) and the relevant technical rules. Reference is made to the necessary tests, including those required by the German Social Accident Insurance (Unfallverhütungsvorschrift) BGV A 3 § 5. Test documents must be provided on request.
- Interventions in existing systems or system parts or those under construction may only be carried out within the scope of the order.
- The necessary personal protective equipment (e.g. head, hand, foot and eye protection, fall protection, etc.) must be worn during the work.
- Before starting work with open fire (e.g. welding, cutting, soldering work), a written release (permit for fire work) must be obtained from the operations manager of DENA. Smoking bans must be strictly observed and the operational fire protection measures must be adhered to.
- Water-polluting and combustible substances may only be used and stored with the prior consent of the site manager or the operations manager of DENA. When storing, drip pans must be used.
- The use of hazardous substances must generally be approved in writing by the operations manager of DENA or by their occupational safety specialist. Hazardous substances are only to be kept on site in the quantities absolutely necessary for the execution of the work. Prohibitions on joint storage must be observed.
- Stored hazardous substances, equipment and other materials must be clearly marked with the owner's details.
- Before starting any excavation work, the site conditions must be checked with the participation of the DENA operations manager due to the possibility of damage to underground supply and disposal lines or similar facilities.
- Any unforeseen obstacles encountered during the work must be reported to the operations manager immediately.
- Pits, shafts, floor openings and the like are to be secured at all times so that no one can be harmed. For particularly dangerous activities (see BGI 697), individual work is prohibited. If this is not possible, measures for monitoring must be agreed with the operations manager of DENA.
- Crane systems, industrial trucks and similar equipment may only be operated after instruction and approval by the operations manager of DENA.
C. Special notes on environmental protection
- The contractor is obliged to inform himself about all environmentally relevant laws that apply to the execution of his contract, to observe and comply with them.
- The disposal of DENA's own building materials and equipment or furnishing systems is carried out on site, unless otherwise agreed.
- Environmentally hazardous substances must not be disposed of in the sewage system or on the ground. Suitable measures must be taken, unless otherwise agreed.
- Before starting work, the contractor must agree with DENA's operations manager on the disposal regulations.
- Waste and residual quantities of delivered materials, including their packaging, must be disposed of properly and independently by the contractor.
- Environmentally relevant incidents must be reported immediately to DENA's operations manager.
- The contractor is liable for environmental damage caused by the contractor's employees or agents.
D. Special information on health and safety
- Due to the presence of areas with electromagnetic radiation, which are marked as such, persons with passive implants
and persons with active implants
are not allowed to work in these areas.
